Working with Brooke Shields was an interesting process. I wrote all the dialogue for her, had calls to discuss how she would portray herself and sat with the director to help interview her, often rewriting dialogue on the fly. It taught me to think fast with a room full of people watching and to work with high profile celebrities. They are not the highlight of my reel but they were extremely successful, effective spots that sent sales through the roof. Let me know if you want to see more of these, I have a bunch.
Not much to say here. Lucky us. The client just wanted to engage people with funny commercials in hopes of getting them into the store. Where did all these clients go?
Dated yes, but during the time this was shot the only commercials running showed women frolicking on the beach and doing yoga while smiling confidently. It felt fake and young women, myself included, were insulted by it. This ad targeted the teen market to help empower girls. Yeah, your period is a pain, but think of the alternative!
The Fire Department of New York had an image problem. All men. White Irish Catholic Men, to be exact. They need more diversity, and the deadline to take the test was coming up fast. So with no money and no time we whipped up a pro bono spot using iconic NY Firehouses and some of the real men and women who in fact fight fire... All in hopes of encouraging individuals of all races and genders to be a hero, and do something meaningful with their lives. It worked- an all time record of minority enrollment, and a hell of a fun shoot.
